King of the 80’s pop?

Waterviola’s review of the perfect pop song got me thinking about who held the title of best song between Falco (Rock Me Amadeus) or Thomas Dolby (Blinded Me With Science)?  Love to know the WordPress readers vote, let us know! Vote on the right sidebar!

Falco?? How can you compare Falco to Dolby?! Actually, I kind of liked “Rock Me Amadeus” because it was just so over the top and ridiculous. I especially like the voiced-over history of Mozart, which ended up with Falco writing the song (cue the shouts of “ROCK ME AMADEUS!”)Makes me smile.

Dolby really jumped the shark after Golden Age Of Wireless, and every single other album has been a complete letdown. The Flat Earth was passable, but Alien’s Ate My Buick?? Yuck.

I have to laugh that your first reaction is Falco??? But then you explain why you like him for the rest of your response. Yes, I figured that Falco and Dolby (although entirely different in so many ways) would be worthy of a poll comparing popularity. Dolby was a one hit wonder not doubt, but his song still is pretty cool. Vote!
